William (Bill) Greuel
Bill is the CEO of Protein Industries Canada (PIC), an industry-led value chain consortium of small- to large-sized enterprises involved in food and food ingredient manufacturing, agriculture and food-related services, research and development, technology, economic development, finance and investment, education and training.
Prior to joining PIC, Bill was employed by Government of Saskatchewan and served as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Regulation and Innovation for the Ministry of Agriculture. He has also held several other positions in the public sector including, the Executive Director of the Ministry’s Crops and Irrigation Branch, Manager of Research and Development as well as the Provincial Oilseed Specialist.
Bill also has extensive industry experience. He worked for a small startup biotech company, spent several years in the canola seed industry and worked in several capacities with BASF Canada, including as the Canadian Market Manager for Functional Crop Care, BASF’s combined seed treatment and inoculant business.
He has also served on several boards and committees, including the Agriculture Development Fund Advisory Committee, the boards of Ag West Bio and the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute.
Bill has a Master of Science from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Regina.
